Established in 2007, the Star View Hill Education Center is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to increasing public awareness of the natural world and environmental sciences. Although SVHEC activities are open to all ages, emphasis is on a secondary school-age audience, with a goal of increasing student interest in the sciences and math.
Using the latest technology, the wonders of the universe are revealed. Participants utilize state-of-the-art telescopes and detectors for visual exploration, research, and student projects. The importance of environmental responsibility is demonstrated by the implementation of renewable energy systems that allow all of the facility's energy requirements to be satisfied by resources available on the 51-acre site.
